Albert joined Institute of Technical Education (ITE) after spending more than 15 years in the hospitality industry, especially in the training and education fraternity.  Some of the achievements in Albert’s career were that he was given the opportunity to lead a 30 strong delegation to Hanover, Germany in 2000 for 6 months to take part in the World Expo where he promoted Singapore as a tourism destination, and setting up a CET Centre in Macau in 2009 where he spend about 2 years residing there.

On top of his teaching portfolios, Albert was also active in the development of the hospitality industry and business community. Albert was the former Secretary for the International Bartenders Association (IBA) (2008-2014), in which he was very much involved in organizing the World Cocktail Championship for IBA, and to judge in many local and international competitions.  Albert was also appointed as the Expert/Judge in the Restaurant Service trade during the following international competitions:

  • WorldSkills International 2015 in São Paulo, Brazil;
  • WorldSkills Asean 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia;
  • WorldSkills Asean 2014 in Hanoi, Vietnam;
  • WorldSkills Asean 2012 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

Albert holds a Master of Education (Curriculum & Teaching) from Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU), and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Business Studies from Loughborough University, UK.  As an avid wine connoisseur, Albert possesses a Higher Certificate (with Distinction) in Wines & Spirits from the prestigious UK Wines & Spirits Trust, and a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) awarded by the Society of Wine Educators.  In addition, Albert has an Advanced Certificate in Food Hygiene and had attained the Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE).
